REWARD
Orphaned
at 13, Aderemi did not let the shock deter him. The humiliating suffering that
followed did not stop him either. Although living with an old grandmother was a
hard adjustment, he created and focused
on the first thing that mattered to him: his books.
Changing
school because of the poor old woman’s inability to pay the tuition further
increased Aderemi’s determination until he got the greatest reward for his hard work.
The
story teaches that focus and hard work pays eventually.

book teaches young readers the need to have patience; and to take things as they are.
THE WISE CHOICE
Chief
Obada’s decision to reward his faithful
slave creates a cross road for his son. In his father’s last will, Kolade
must choose only ONE ITEM and leave the rest to Ovien the slave . Frustrated
over the strange request of his rich father, Kolade takes to counsel from all;
both the wise and the unwise to enable him make the best choice out of his
father’s large estate.
The
ensuing tension provided an enabling ground for him, until by divine
intervention, he made a really WISE CHOICE.
The
story teaches, among other things that in time of crises, wisdom, rather than
irrational decision should be our best option.
THE JOURNEY TO
MUDI
The
story takes the reader back into the distant past in the palace of the King of
Koga kingdom. Loved by his people because he reign had brought to his subjects,
they all wished he should rule forever.
But
king Bubada fell sick; and threatened with untimely death. But there is a cure:
The leaves for the dangerous evil forest of Mudi where a return journey is a
near impossibility.
The
determination of those to go; and all they encountered to bring the king back
to life paints to picture of the spirit of uncommon resilience.
THE MISSING MAID
Found
abandoned in a dangerous bush, Ewashola is picked and token to the kings palace
where she became the only succor of the blind prince.
Through
a series of events framed by the divine, Ewashola and the prince find
themselves in a city were both of them begin school after the prince’s
blindness had being treated and cured in
a modern hospital.
The
climax of the story is where Ewashola was re-united with her parents who also
returned the once - blind prince to his happy parents, a perfect case of one good turn that deserved another.
BITRUS AND THE
SPARROW
Condemned
to die because he is believed to have a cursed destiny, his parents kept him
despite all olds;till events began to
point to what seemed to be a fulfillment of the oracle.
The
interplay of time, hard work, faith determination combined to remould Bitrus,
who, like the metaphorical sparrow, flew higher into the community’s sky of
achievement – contrary to the oracle.
Lesson:
Your destiny is in your hands.
DELE AND HIS
DREAM
Nature
seemed to have a way of testing all dreams. Dele’s own is no exception. Upon
his father’s death he is taken to stay with his uncle, who unfortunately, is
jealous of Dele’s secrete dream to be educated beyond being an illiterate
carpenter. His uncle’s jealousy drove him out into the hands of a total stranger from whose
assistance Dele finally realized his big dream of going to the university.
THE
BITTER PILL
The
story centres on the old Kingdom of Imadebe with her cruel treatment of slaves
as though they too, were not human beings.
Perhaps,
owing to Mazizi’s secret prayers and heartfelt desire, the divine intelligence
turns her regrets into reward.
The
warnings of the oracle is stoutly rejected until serial calamities plagued
Imadebe and the prince forced to retreat and marry the lucky slave girl –
Mazizi.
